8/15/03 - Rumors and Chains

Heh. Don't let my silly bylines mislead ya'. I just added a few links to Cuddly Gamers and Budget Gamers. They're game sites. *Duh* But I also was given a quote from SMCManiac419. Thanks!

8/5/03 - Found the Missing

Wow. I've had it a blank space since I started this page, but I finally got a picture for the pop-up promotional ad that SEGA made for PSO when it was first coming out. It's basically the Ver.1 logo with Ragol in the background, but has the characters brought forward similar to a relief sculpture. You can find the image at the top of the Collectibles section. I updated the F.A.Q. page a bit while I was at it.

11/15/02 - Eye And Ear

Two big additions to the Collectibles section today. First up, I've put up images of the last of my Ohzora Doujinshi Manga books. Picked a few choice selections from them naturally. More exciting however is that I recieved my copy of the 2-disc PSO Ep.1&2 soundtrack. It basically includes everything that was missing from the previous OST. Feel free to check out a couple samples in either the collectibles or in the download section!

11/6/02 - Stooooopid Monsters

Actually, I'm doing a little editing to the bestiary marking a few facts that went oversighted. Also, the Bestiary menu has Episode II ready to be opened. That is, if Sonic Team would give the U.S. page access to the Snapshop exporter. *Grumble Grumble* Similarly, the classes have been slightly updated to reflect the new GC version.

Also, my new host, SEGAFANS, has chosen Antares, Block I to be the meeting place for their site vistors. Basic access should be:

Game : segafans
Pass : saturn

Look us up!

10/30/02 - Pioneer 2's Lab Will Give Dexter Science-Envy

In case you're wondering, yes, I bought the GC version today as it came out. So, I scanned my cover and replaced the older image in the Software section of Collectibles.

BTW, without spoiling too much, I really like how the infrastructure of Pioneer 2's beauracracy is really starting to fall apart. The Government Administration and the Labatory Research Center are acting out on their own agendas while the powerless Military oversees the special projects of the other two. And the Hunter's Guild? They do the rest of the dirty work while they open new offices! Heh.

10/26/02 - Plastic Is Your Friend

Hee hee, I just added a section in Collectibles dedicated to toys! There are three different sets shown, two of which are brand new. I don't know about you, but I think I'm gonna' get a few. Off to E-Bay!

^_^

10/25/02 - They're Just Like Mosquitos

Yowch! Did I say BANNER ads? Looks like every frickin' type of ad was activated.
*Sigh* Well, I'm too poor right now to do it any other way.

On the plus side, I've finally got all the downloadable stuff uploaded. So, you should be able to access that stuff. If any the links prove to be broken, let me know. I also corrected Rudger Steiner's profile in the Phantasy Star 2 page after playing through the Nei Game no Kan text adventure.

10/19/02 - Welcome (back) to the PSO Alley

Hey, I'm back online thanks to my new host SEGAFANS! It's part of Gamespy, so they'll be those banner ads, but whaddya' gonna' do, neh? Any rate, just think of the face on Chakan when he agreed to give me some space unaware just how big this sucker is! Hee hee!

Special "Hi!" goes out to the former GIA message boarders, the SEGAFANS! forum peoples, Someisa, Dr. GoNzO, Daz, Stixxx, those mentioned below, and everyone I've met on PSO!

Speaking of which the following bit of text is when I thought I'd be online earlier. I kept it since it mentions all the updates I've done since I was down. Sure, I could change to fit the new message, but why should I when I can let you do the discerning?

^_^

Well, I'm finally able to get back online with a revised format, no less. I don't know when I'll be able to update again, and yes, there are still a lot of files that will still be missing, but here's the whole kit'n'kaboodle of what I got. A couple of items were added to the Collectibles section. One is a image of a Web Money card, whatever that is. The other is a pic of Burning Rangers, maybe I'll put up some screenshots to illustrate why in the future. I also added a few screenshots of the ending credit roll when you type in "URAENDING"...nifty, no?

I asked Naflign at Naflign's Ego if I can put his new and recent version of Nei Kan on my site. He had no problems with the idea, so you'll be able to find that in the Downloads section. Also, I removed the PSOv.2 movie files as they are rather large and are not too relevent anymore. At least, not since V.2 has been in the U.S. for over three months now.

The Silver Dragon is now listed among the Bestiary, so the Ultimate Forest is done as far as descriptions are concerned! Yay! On to the hideously mutated Boomas!

There is a HUGE addition in the Manga section....but I'll let you figure it out by yourself. Though I do want to thank Rebecca Capowski for making them easier to read. ^_^

Oh, and special thanks to Daryl Cimafranca, Sonic Dragoon, IAmTeenBulma, Black Eagle, and whoever I missed for all the new quotes!

2/13/02 - If It's Broken, FIX IT!!
Good news! After fiddling with my BIOS, I discovered my Printer Port was deactivated (the hell?) and promptly corrected that error, and I now have my scanner back! In celebration, I've uploaded the latest Manga page in Collectibles! Woo hah!

2/10/02 - Similar Yet Different
I've been meaning to change the back grounds around here for quite awhile. And technically, I did so, even if the main one is similarly themed. At any rate, they're both smaller, so that should cut down on the load time. Plus, I also updated the links and the F.A.Q. a bit more.

2/9/02 - Canane Cooked Hawaiian Style
I finished up the Ultimate Forest creatures in the Bestiary, except for the Sil Dragon. I'll get to that sometime later.

Plus, while I was surfing, I discovered a few pics of some rather excellent looking PSO toys that will be or are being sold in Japan. I placed those pictures in the Collectibles section. I'm really impressed, they look exactly like they should.

2/8/02 - Big Bird
OK, a small update on the ol' Bestiary. Before I was interrupted by someone who shall remain nameless, I did a pair of screen captures for the Ultimate monsters. So, as of right now, Bartles and the El Rappies have an entry. Expect a couple more tomorrow night.

Also, I recieved an e-mail from a PSDB member at the Phantasy Star Pages informing me that one of the sound files is missing. I put that back up and replaced a few missing things I noticed in the process. Please e-mail me if anything else goes A.W.O.L.

I also want to do a few more Manga scans as I've got two books to show. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten my scanner to detect since upgrading my computer. I might need to switch to USB. Any rate, that'll be on hold, indefinitely. >_<

And while this place didn't recieve a major update in awhile, the same can't be said of my other site, Knight Eternal, my Batman shrine/database/webland/thingy. I've brought back all the old features I had to drop for it, so it's almost up to snuff again. Feel free to check it out!

12/19/01 - Mystery Code
I took the liberty of uploading the Japanese demo of PSO for PC as it was released recently. Feel free to try it out but let me give a fair warning. I don't know if it can't be properly installed on an American computer or I'm using an older version of directX. Either way, I haven't gotten much luck on getting it to work. If you think you've got better luck, you'll find it in the Downloads section.

12/08/01 - Would you like a mouse to feed your MAG with?
I put up a pic of the PC Version of PSO in the Collectibles section. Plus, a new Isis Journal!

Ah, my most short-winded update message ever! ^_^

12/04/01 - Well, you know what they say.
I recieved a pair of quotes recently from Caity and BStorm which I've added to the quotes page.. Thanks!

Also, the latest Isis journal has been uploaded as well, minus some pics. I'll try to add those sometime later.

11/10/01 - Could you say that again....in English?
A couple of section have been updated this week. As the Gamecube/X-box version approaches, the new classes are becoming easier to figure out....so I updated that section. I also added the second Isis journal. I hope you find the little stompbot's observations interesting provided you can find it.

More importantly, Rebecca Capowski translated a few excerpts from the Book of Hunters by request. A lot of it is common stuff, but a few details you may not be aware. You can find the main document in the Introduction to the Book of Hunters's Section in the Collectibles section. A few of the texts are found in the other subsections, as well. A big kudos to her and check out her various translation documents located here!

11/1/01 - Dear Journal : Burned up a Booma Today
Added a slight update to the weapons page by adding Flame Visit and maximum grinded Suppressed Gun. I also started a journal for Isis which oughta' be amusing as time goes on. Just click on any picture in Screen Captures that features a Cyan RAcaseal! 6-6

10/25/01 - The Gun is Bigger than She is!
Just updated a few pics of my RAcaseal, Isis, on the Screen Caputes menu. I've made and remade her before on my VMU and she's back to how she originally was, a creepy little robot. She's 3'8"and is dwarfed by the enormous Flame Visit she's carrying.

Thank god the previous version of Isis was still V.1, so I could complete the Easter Quest to get that weapon. Heh, I'll have the stats on it real soon!

10/24/01 - Monster Rancher
I made some revisions to the Bestiary in the Cave but mostly in the Ruins. Basically, I added a couple of observations I discovered after playing the monsters. Not to mention, I corrected a few things I wrote which were just plain wrong. >_<

10/22/01 - Return of the Naflign
Mike Ripplinger from WWW.Camineet.Net informed me that Naflign's Ego is up and running again. That site's new address has been updated. Also discovered at the site was a link to the translation of one of the Phantasy Star Radio Plays which go into Rudy's past. The translation only has just finished the first scene, but it's too neat not to check out. Any rate, both sites have been updated to the Links section and here :

Naflign's Ego

Phantasy Star Memorial Drama CD Translation

10/15/01 - A Fancier Chain
Fellow PSO-addict, Stixxx, wanted his message board linked from here, and he wanted it big and pretty. After much rolling of the eyes, I've done so and upgraded the links page in general.

BTW, I finally got my Hunter's License working. Like some other people, it didn't go through the first time. So, I called SEGA at 1-800-USA-SEGA and they were able to get things going so I could register by the next day. If you're having trouble yourself, CALL SEGA NOW! I was really surprised by the competency!

^_^

10/14/01 - Pioneer 2 Rules Over All From Above!
Heh, well, at least no one's talking about Final Fantasy XI : Online as competition anytime soon.

OK, now that I got my ornery jab in, I updated the F.A.Q. with the latest information about the Gamecube/X-Box versions of PSO. Check
PSOworld for the up-to-date information!

I also prepared the coming of the new classes in the Classes section, but don't expect anything unless you like three lines of text a piece.

On a related note, Shenmue II is being released on the DC for Europe and in Japan. Here in the U.S. where the original sold the most, we get to wait another year as Microsoft has secured exclusive right to the sequel to the X-Box. People are blaming SEGA (and they should) for this cold decision, but I haven't seen much mention of kicking Gates in the rear. Yech, first Windows XP, now this. They should of split that sucker up.

LATE BREAKING NEWS : I added a Cosplay pic. A small one. 6_9

Added a couple of Screen Captures, too. Both feature giant little animals. You'll see what I mean.

9/27/01 - Return of the Drunken HUmar
Well, after a very long wait, PSOv.2 is finally out. It came out yesterday where I'm at, and I pretty much picked it up immediately. And let me tell ya', Ultimate kicks ass. Mostly yours! But the swag I've found in Ultimate and even Very Hard is far, far better than PSO ever gave. It's worth picking up despite the Hunter's License fee. Well, at least to me.

I also read in PSOworld that the U.S. version of PSOv.2 is compatible with the Japanese save game files. The U.S. version has better cheat protection, so that's also a consideration to buy if its true. Check out the news at
PSOworld

As for an update, I added the wallpaper from PSOv.2's Extra folder. Like I said, the Dreamcast Discs can potentially mess up your CD-Rom drive. So, it's probably safer just downloading them. Oh, and I scanned my copy of PSO and PSOv.2 just for fun. ;)

9/25/01 - Moving Day!
Well, as you can see, the alley's got its own domain name now and it only made sense to update it as well.

So, first off, the Cosplay pics can be clicked now for closeups. I added a section for the Ver.2 Manga in Collectibles. The orchestra version for the opening and closing themes found on the Original Soundtrack have been added to download. As have the wallpapers on the PSO disc and Soundtrack CD. This way you won't have to worry about messing up your CD-Rom by putting your Dreamcast disc into your computer.

Now last time I heard, Ver. 2 was coming out on this day. So, what are you waiting for? Heh.

9/19/01 - Closer to the Origin?
I added a little more to my theory of when PSO appears in the series' timeline. I also added a few pics to clarify, too. They're located in the F.A.Q. on my main page.

Mind you, it's only a theory, no matter how detailed it is. And quite frankly, I'm not interested in answering E-mails debating about the validity of another version of the story that I know
someone has. Make your own webpage if you wanna' do that. ^_^

9/17/01 - Out of Order
With much chagrin, I've decided to take down the link for the Download Quests page. I was hoping to expand beyond the Easter Quest, but downloading Dreamcast VMU files is a tricky business. And unfortunately, I never got it to work right. So, for now, I replaced that spot with the Cosplay page.

On the other hand, I can still redirect you to where you can download every possible quest available!

http://www.booyaka.com

It's a free sign-up service, so don't worry too much about it. Just remember, you have to be using your DC Web Browser to download the files. This link will be up on the Links page, too.

9/16/01 - Milk Carton Prevention
Hmmm....looks like SEGA took down it's Gamejam site along with all of the Cosplay images. Still, I had a couple on file, so I added a section to Collectibles with what I have.

9/06/01 - The Darkness Emerges
Added even more Weapon Stats to the site, but also, I've reworked the Bestiary quite a bit! The images are now just rectangular, but .gifs only support 256 colors and some of them look a bit nicer as True Color .jpgs, with or without a transparent Alpha Channel.

More importantly, I've added Statistics to almost every creature found. There are a few areas with "?" filled in because I couldn't find the information to it, but for the most part, it's complete. Oh yes, I also added Dark Falz which finishes the Bestiary. At least till Version 2 comes out in a few weeks. :P

8/27/01 - Proof of Prologue
Well, Pioneer Alley just had its 5000th visitor yesterday, and who knows how many hits? To celebrate, mainly because it was being sent my way despite the fact, I have uploaded a scan of the cover for the PSO Trial Network Edition in the Collectibles section. For those who didn't know, some people who preordered far in advanced recieved this copy to Betatest the servers before the game was officially open. I'm not one of those lucky few, but Mike Ripplinger from WWW.Camineet.Net graciously donated this scan from his copy to be displayed in the Alley. Domo arigato, Mike-san!

8/26/01 - Was it "A+Start" or "X+Start"?
Even more Weapon information is added on and I just might be halfway there now. Don't even ask about armor or items yet.
>_<

Let's see, I also tweaked the bottom of the main page...though its more interesting for me, than for you.. But I did add a pic at the very bottom of my Screen Capture section that I've had sitting around. It took me awhile to figure out the particulars on how PSO does the VMU images on the 4th controller, you see. And well, that pic is what I got by shooting a closeup of the Hunter's Guild Clerk. Oy.

8/22/01 - You'll Shoot Your Eye Out, Kid.
I added a couple more stats for the weapon page again. This time it's a ton of guns including theVaristas that won't go away. A few Special Force Weapons, too.

Also, I recieved a quote from one
Jason Ogorek giving us some low humor at its finest. :)

Thanks, man!

8/20/01 - For Your Eyes Only
I altered the Downloads section a bit adding the files from the Soundtrack CD also located in Collectibles. And I updated the Shockwave Demo part, too.

Plus, I updated the Weapons page a bit more late last night. Thanks to
Dr. GoNzO for allowing me to look through his stuff! Heh.

8/19/01 - Happiness is a Warm Caduceus
I added a few more stats to the weapons data page including my one and only found rare. Caduceus is awesome, but I had to start a Force up to about Lvl. 45 to use it!! >_<

Plus, you'll now know everything there is to know about the generic sabers. :p

8/18/01 - It Lives, Igor, It Lives!!
Well, it's been a long time coming, but a new update has arrived. Admittingly, it's mostly tweaks here and there, especially in the Collectibles Section. However, I've finally started on the Ruins Bestiary with more pics for it arriving after Labor Day weekend. The F.A.Q. is a bit more updated. Oh yeah, and Someisa went behind my back a couple of days ago and added a pic with Vaya and Vidar in the Screen Captures section. :)

And, of course, this snazzy new "What's New?" page including all the info that I had posted on the old EZBoard.

Also, a link to the Collectibles was featured in PSO World's newssite again! Hello fame, goodbye fortune! *_*

7/8/01 - F.A.Q. update & Dr. GoNzO!!!
Just added a question about PSOv2 which contains basically what is known about it. I decided to forego mentioning a release date as I don't want to cause undue pain.

And also, I got a pic of
Dr. GoNzO! One the dudes I met early on in PSO! Take a look at his dramatic stance down in Screen Captures! OOoooOOOOooooo!

6/30/01 - More Quotes and Fan Stuff Requests
Thanks goes out to MechaGojira and Nick Keish who offered some more quotations! Those have been added to the section now.

Also, I've read several requests for fan art/fan fiction and the deal. Well, I'd be happy to add a section buuuuutttt...someone has to send some in first. So, if you want to show your work here in the Alley, send a message to skeearmon@msn.com with a subject line of "PSO Fan Stuff" or something similar. It can be PSO, the original Phantasy Star, or a picture of your grandmother dancing through tulips. I don't mind and I'm certain I can build a section for it in most cases. ^_^

Be good now.

6/17/01 - Giving the quoters their due!
Yes, folks. I'm still awake, I've just been on vacation for a while. Either that or work, but enough of all that.

I added three quotes to, well, the Quote sections. They come from
Hitomi s1001, Hi-Posi, and Nackey! Thanks to Hi-Posi for sending them in (and being so patient)

Also, somewhere along the line, my happy-go-lucky webhost,
Someisa, added a few from the GIA crew and some others she hangs out with. Tell her she's a good lil' FO, it'll make her happy!

OK, time for slee...zzzzzzz

6/05/01 - Got Manga? (How about a translator?)
I recieved my manga/dojinshi (how do you spell that?) collection book today in the mail and I took the liberty to do a few scans. They're in the collectible section, naturally, right under the Book of Hunters segment. And anyone who wants to try translating them is more than welcome, just e-mail me what you figure out and I'll do the adjustments.

Oh yeah, I got the Kodanshan strategy guide, too. But there's nothing there that you can't find in the U.S. guide. C'est la vie.

6/03/01 - So, That's What That Page Means!
Excerpted elsewhere on the site :

"Well, there I was trying to get out of bed and failing miserably for the last two hours, when I finally got over to my PC to check my E-Mail. Much to my surprise, there was a message from someone who helped me figure out some of the books before named Persona with a complete translation of the book section of Sonic Team's web catalog! Apparently, he ran it through one of those java-based translators you can find on the net. So, here it is as it was presented to me more or less including the comments. Persona's statements are in italic and yellow, and well, I added a few of my own as well. Oh, and a few things failed to translate, so it's still in its original Japanese text, but may look like garbage or question marks on your computer instead."

Anyways, the translation is at the bottom of the Collectibles section. Plus, I added two extra quotes from
Spaceman Bill somewhere online. Thanks!

EDIT : Ah, I added a few more pics of Vol Opt in inaction. ^_^

MORE EDITING : I just got through Phantasy Star Adventure just a moment ago so I did a page for it in the Phanta section. Quite frankly, it's rather short, but then so is the game.

6/02/01 - Another Look at the Book of Hunters
All right, I've added some more from the PSO Settei which covers just about everything, though I'll probably pick a few other images to scan in the future. The section is rearranged into parts now so load times won't be as much an issue, hopefully.

I also redid the menus (again) as they still didn't look quite right. Too much purple!

Also, I added a quote given to me from
Elendil the FOmarl. Thanks!

5/31/01 - The Menus Got a New Image?
Well, I didn't really wanted to bother honestly, but I changed the menu text with images. Quite frankly, computers display text size differently so sometimes my menu would stay in frame and sometimes not. Any rate, they're tiny files, so it shouldn't be too much of an inconvenience, I would hope.

5/30/01 - Figuring Out My Own Collection
Well, I noticed that since I picked up the Book of Hunter's that my Collectibles page is a little out of date. So, I made some corrections there. I also added the ISBN number for the Book of Hunters since so many people have been mailing me about it! (Thanks for all the support, btw!)

Also, I apologize for not naming who told me about what the Syosetu is supposed to be, but the name is completely forgotten! Sorry, but you know who you are!

5/28/01 - A Little Bit More to the Classics
Well, I finally got that pic of La Shiec I wanted after trekking through several miles of 8-bit passageways. Naturally, it's at the Phanta 1 page.

Also, I added a couple of screenshots of 1-4 which will be immediately accessable the moment you click on "Phanta."

5/25/01 - You call this an update?
I was the Phantasy Star Pages Board when I found out the name for the signature FOnewearl located in the Gran Squall quest. It's Rupika!

Heh, took longer to write this message than it did to update the FOnewearl page.

5/23/01 - Brothers, Butterflies, and Lyla, too!
Well, I added a pic of DAZ who is one of my first friends in PSO. Maybe I'll get one of his brother soon.

Let's see, a bestiary is actually all about every creature, not just the monsters. So, I've added all the critters that don't try to slap your character around. I didn't check in the Ruins too close, but then nothing is nice in the Ruins! ....Except for the seagulls in Dark Falz's garden! Bloody $*%, I would just remember that now!

Ah well, but hey! I found in Phanta 4, Lyla does use techniques! I did not know that. Anyway, that's been fixed. Now I shall sleep right after Space Hog is done playin'.

5/22/01 - Beep Beep!
Someone requested this elsewhere, so I put up the bonus sound effects found on the PSO Soundtrack CD. Some are really good for Themes.

5/22/01 - A Warrior's Tools
Finally, I've started the weapons page. It's nowhere near being complete, but each item's stat bonuses are as accurate as possible.

Oh yeah, I added the Title Illustration that I scanned from the Book of Hunters. It's pretty familiar but hey.

5/20/01 - Hello Valrie!
Heh, added Valrie onto the GIA pics. And there's one more of me, just for good health.

5/20/01 - Even more from the Book of Hunters
I added a pic of the female ninja, HUcaseal. Plus, there are now nine concepts pics of Pioneer 2 in the planning stages.

5/19/01 - Rounder New World
I updated the Phantasy Star III page a bit. Basically, I hated how the world maps looked as is...so I tweaked them a little. Don't worry, all the major details are the same for you purists. It just got more....rounder.

5/18/01 - More on the BOH and a FAQ update
Well, just trust me, I'm adding more images from that book. Woot! Here's a direct link to it, though there's no link back out there :

Spoonybard.nu/pso/Subindex_Collect.html

Also, I've added information about the PSO Alphabet found ingame that the settei provides. It can be found on the bottom of the Main Page with the rest of the F.A.Q.

5/18/01 - Book of Hunters Section Added
Well, like I said elsewhere, I picked up the PSO Settei, the Book of Hunters. It's sweet, even if I can't read any of it.

So, you can find the covers in the collectibles section and you can click on its link to see several scanned images I've found unique. Old man Tyrell never looked so fearsome.

5/15/01 - Phantasy Star III Profiled
Woah, been busy today! I finished the page about Phanta 3 and now the set is for the most part complete.

Actually, there are two Game Gear games called Phantasy Star Adventure and Phantasy Star Gaiden. I'm not too familiar with them, though, as they were both in Japanese and haven't really been translated by romhackers. So, they can wait.

Oh, and eight text adventure games based off of Phantasy Star II which also exist somewhere. They were downloaded by a modem designed for the Mega Drive (Sega Genesis in the US) or something to that effect. Each one starred a different party member in their past which helped flesh them out a little. But these also are in Japanese.....
